There can be many headaches and expenses associated with providing computer workstations for your staff. Operating System licences, application software licences and the cost of the computers themselves – the costs can quickly mount up.
Keeping PC's working can be time consuming too, software updates, installing new software or hardware, dealing with virus attacks, again things can get expensive.
We advocate the use of Thin Client workstations. These are small computer devices that do not have hard drives like conventional computers, they simply connect to the local network and load the applications they need from the Server. They are simpler, therefore cheaper than regular Pcs and in the event that one breaks down, you can simply get a new one and plug it straight in without waiting for setup or configuration.
The Thin Clients use Linux and can have the usual kinds of applications you may need, such as Internet, Email, Office, Database etc. If you have need for a specific application that is not available on Linux, you can still use your regular PC and use Linux clients elsewhere.
